Etsy Photo Tips Part 2

I don't know if these will be helpful to anyone or if I was the only one who didn't know this stuff.  I am going to ASSUME that I am not the only one who didn't know this stuff for MONTHS, and tell you what I learned.  IF I am the only one who didn't know this, don't tell me.  I already know I'm a dork and don't need affirmation of that fact!  :)

1.  You can load all 5 pictures on Etsy at once.  I DID NOT know this for about three months after opening my store.  I actually found out by ACCIDENT.  It is something that I wish I had known that would have saved me countless hours.

It takes awhile to upload all 5 photos at once, but I just get them started and I can pretty much finish up the rest of the listing as they load.

2. Goes along with number one.  Occasionally as you load your photos on Etsy, you will get a white box of nothing instead of your picture.  (Actually, this happens to me more often than not!) The white box of emptiness DOES NOT mean your photo did not load.  It did and will show up in Preview.  I thought this meant the pic didn't load and I would delete it and upload it again.  I have had all my pictures show up as white boxes at one time or another and I spent COUNTLESS hours re-uploading pictures that were already there! Don't waste your time doing this!  It's there- REALLY!  (Again, this is something I totally found out by ACCIDENT, and it was AFTER CHRISTMAS that I found this out.  COUNTLESS HOURS I tell you!)

3. Make your last listing of the day be your prettiest, most eye catching photo!  Your listing photo will show up in your "favoriters" "New Items from Your Favorite Shops" section in the activity feed.  Make your last photo pretty so that it will catch the eye of all the folks later, when you are done listing for the day, and make people want to click on it to check it out AND your shop!

I hope these tips will help someone.  I could have saved myself BOATLOADS of time if someone had told me!

  2. #3! That's a great suggestion. I've never thought of that, but now I'll keep it in mind. Thank you! Great tips!
