Because of this, every available surface in our apartment at the moment is covered in
Kid's school desk......no room for a math book here!
More stuff!!!!! ACK!
Step over my stuff to get to your science book! Stop complaining!!
I'm looking for a place to put all this stuff...........found one!!
The napkins are located next to the cake carrier......you know that!
I like pastel trains in the living room......and Mary Had a Little Lamb goes with just about everything!!!
OK, truth be told, I'm out of bins and I need to get some more to get all this stuff contained and out of the living spaces. I am really a neat freak and grew up in a lot of clutter. This REALLY bothers me if I let it. It is a part of me that I have had to sort of turn off in order to get this online thing going.
How do you deal with loads of inventory?
I know what you mean, our "listings" are taking over the house and its becoming the norm around here. I do like being able to see the stuff as a reminder of what has to be listed. I've decided to turn my sewing room into an Ebay room, I was just going to quit buying but we all know that that would be no fun.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree, if I have to stop buying whats the point? I had a revelation moment this week when I realized that the main reason I do this is to be able to have an excuse to shop, even if its only thrift, thats all it takes to make me happy! I am also on the verge of a breakdown over the clutter, and need to buy storage totes, I keep telling myself to keep at it and somehow I will eventually get this stuff organized.
ReplyDeleteJust as I get our "office" fixed up, more stuff comes in. What really kills me is the large diaper boxes we keep so I can ship bigger stuff. Yes, I could break them down, but every time I think to do it, something more important comes up...like...well, anything other than breaking down Pampers boxes.
ReplyDeleteWhen we built our house about six years ago, we planned for a long hallway upstairs to be lined with bookcases to hold our Amazon inventory. Books and, by default, bookcases then slowly migrated into the guest bedroom, as well as CDs, DVDs, and games, and their requisite holders. We also have a large Great Room that was to be used for entertaining. Now, it's our space for "to list" inventory. Our guest house has become our eBay office/warehouse. My wife Ella also has become very adept at finding nooks and crannies to store stuff.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to know it's not just me!! We are in an 1100 square foot apartment with attached garage and DH and I are seriously discussing something I NEVER thought we would be considering.......a STORAGE UNIT!
ReplyDeleteSorry to be the party pooper but I need your advice, Adrienne. After the new spring update, I am contemplating closing my store because the fees on shipping plus store fees are costing me big time and my items are as light as possible. It appears we will now be railroaded into priority shipping, paying for senseless returns and possibly even having funds held by paypal. Should I keep on fighting or just give up now? Is it still worth it?
ReplyDeleteI do think eBay is still a viable selling venue. I think you have to be willing to go with the flow and be willing to try selling items you haven't before. Change can be scary, especially when you have little control over the changes, but so far the changes eBay has made in the past haven't been as bad as I thought they would be.
DeleteI plan to ride the eBay ride as long as I can and I know what I am willing to put up with and what will signal the end of my days there. I think once you decide what the end looks like for you, it's easier to sit back and take things as they come.
This was probably no help at all.....
Thank you for responding to my question. I have been slowly coming to the same conclusion that if I don't sell some different items I may not survive. I love what I sell so this is hard for me. I will consider your comments. Lots of wise advice.
